If you’re getting behind the wheel of a race vehicle, you’ll need a Speedway Australia licence.
You can complete the process online by selecting the correct category below. If you haven’t previously held a Speedway Australia licence, select “First Time Licence”. If you are updating your existing licence, select “Renew Licence”. If you need to transfer to a higher licence category select “Upgrade Licence”.

Before you're licensed, have you...
- Completed a Health Statement in full (section 8)? NOTE: Required by all applicants.
- Provided a passport sized photo (NO hats or sunglasses) if required? (New photo required every 5 years. Junior photos must have been taken in the last 3 months).
- New Licence Holders: Attached a clearly legible proof of age document (birth certificate, drivers licence, passport, proof of age card or student ID).
Medical Examinations
All applicants (including marshals and mechanics) must submit a health statement.
For drivers UNDER 60 years of age, a medical examination is required every 2 years.
For drivers 60 years of age and over, a medical examination is required annually.
In all cases, the medical examination must be completed no more than 3 months prior to the date of application.
Please note, SCCA and Wingless Sprint drivers are required to supply a new medical examination every year regardless of age, as per the SCCA rule book.
