Licensing and Cost

Holding a Speedway australia Licence

A Speedway Australia licence entitles a holder to participate in Speedway Australia sanctioned events. When holding a licence, they’ll receive complementary competitor insurance, while obliging them to comply with racing rules, safety standards, medical requirements, behavioural expectations, and all directions and policies of Speedway Australia.

As a Speedway Australia licence holder, you’ll receive access to Speedway Australia’s Group Personal Insurance Policy which has been arranged through insurance brokers Gallaghers and is underwritten by Liberty Specialist Markets.

By purchasing this policy on a group scheme basis, Speedway Australia is able to provide cover to its licence holders participating in Speedway Australia Permitted events.

You can find out more about the insurance policy here.

The cost and coverage of a licence is determined by the divisions you intend to race in. You are only required to pay for the highest category licence selected, but you need to list every division you’re competing in.

Drivers can select a maximum of five racing divisions

Here are some other things to note:

  • Vintage & Extraneous Applicants must complete a waiver form. Form is available from the Speedway Australia downloads page or here.
  • Personal Accident Insurance is provided by Speedway Australia with purchase of a licence.
